… not just when your eyes are closed!

A recent New York Times article advises us to spend our money where we actually spend the most time, offering suggestions for work, leisure time, and at home.

So when we consider how many hours we spend in our homes, suddenly our kitchens, bathrooms – and especially bedrooms! – become the focus.

Bedrooms are not a place to skimp!

We believe a home should be a reflection of its owners, and that is seldom more apparent than in the bedroom. If your bedroom isn’t a safe haven, a retreat, and a recharging space, you’re doing yourself an injustice. Think of it this way: your bedroom is for you alone … so the style and décor should help you relax and get comfortable.

Plus, your bedroom would be a place where you want to spend your (potential) eight hours of sleep. We always advise our clients and friends to invest good mattresses and pillows. Quality of sleep is a huge factor in our day to day lives.

Change your bedroom from drab to dreamy!

When it comes to setting the mood for a bedroom, though, deciding where to start or what problem area to tackle first can be overwhelming. That’s why we want to share some of our best practices and ideas for color, windows, furniture, and space.

Color: What is the color of your bedroom saying to you? Is it inviting, calming, enchanting? Look for a color palette that makes the most of your space and achieves the mood you want.

Windows: If you need complete darkness for a good night’s rest, you want blackout shades! Or maybe a sliver of sunlight that tugs you awake to start your day off right. Or how about wide open windows to a magnificent view? Consider a wide variety of window treatments to find for the one that’s best for you.

Furniture Do you prefer a furniture set for a composed or elegant look … or eclectic pieces that work best for function and fit in funky spaces? Either way, you can find the look that’s truly yours.

Space: The most important aspect of a comfortable bedroom is using existing space to reach the highest potential. Simply rearranging the layout freshens the whole room, and adding different finishes, rugs, and accessories can change your bedroom from drab to dreamy.

Let’s create a bedroom space where you look forward to waking up in every morning!
